Renovation for First-time Buyer

2023

Edith Terrace, London SW10

Challenge: Louisa, an owner-occupier, bought a tired and outdated two-bedroom, purpose-built flat that lacked modern appeal and functionality. The space felt cramped and uninspiring, with underutilised areas that limited its potential. Louisa wanted a transformation into a bright, contemporary apartment that would not only increase the aesthetic value of the property but also improve its practicality for everyday living.

Solution: ARMAR BUILDERS took on the challenge of reimagining Louisa’s flat by implementing several key structural and design changes:

  • We removed a wall to open up the reception room, creating a large, bright open-plan kitchen area that seamlessly integrated with the living space.

  • A second en-suite bathroom was added, improving the flat’s functionality and convenience, particularly for guests or shared living arrangements.

  • We transformed previously underused storage space into a smart laundry area, including space for both a washing machine and dryer, along with additional clothes-hanging space, making the home more organised and efficient.

Results: The transformation was a complete success. The flat was completely redefined, offering an airy, modern living environment. Louisa was thrilled with the result, as the property’s value was significantly increased due to the improvements made. The open-plan design and additional en-suite bathroom not only made the apartment more attractive but also more comfortable and convenient. Louisa chose ARMAR BUILDERS for the job after seeing the quality of our work at a previous project, Ben’s flat in Marylebone High Street. His positive experience with us made it an easy decision to trust ARMAR BUILDERS with her own renovation.

The end result was a bright, contemporary apartment that not only maximised space but also greatly improved both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The project was completed on time, within budget, and met Louisa's vision for her new home.
